Pottery Throwing Masterclass

Whether you’re completely new to the pottery wheel or looking to build confidence and refine your skills, this one-day throwing masterclass offers focused, hands-on time with clay in a small, supportive setting.

You’ll be guided through the fundamentals of wheel throwing, beginning with preparing and centring clay, then learning how to throw a basic cylinder. With plenty of time to practise, you’ll develop these core skills before moving on to shaping forms in the afternoon, exploring techniques such as bellying out and necking in.

By the end of the day, you’ll have a solid understanding of how to prepare clay for the wheel and the confidence to throw your own pots.

What you need to know:

• Maximum of 4 students

• £180 per person, including all materials and firing

• Each student will keep up to 3 pieces, finished in a choice of studio glazes

• 10:00am – 4:00pm

• Finished work will be dried, fired, and ready for collection at a later date
